• Idex Corp president and chief executive officer, Larry Kingsley, will take on the additional role of chairman of its board of directors, effective at the company’s 2006 annual meeting on 4 April 2006. Kingsley will succeed Dennis Williams, who plans to retire from the company and the board at the annual meeting (see Pump Industry Analyst, March 2005). Kingsley has been Idex’s president and CEO since March 2005 and was previously the company’s chief operating officer since August 2004. Before joining Idex, Kingsley progressed through a series of increasingly responsible operating positions at Danaher Corp. Meanwhile Idex board member Paul Raether will retire and resign from the board efective 4 April 2006, after serving on the Idex board since 988. He will be replaced by Ruby Chandy, who has been vice president of Marketing and Commercial Excellence of Thermo Electron Corp since 2005. • Finish Thompson Inc (FTI) has named Casey Bowes as the company’s new vice president of sales and marketing. Bowes will have full managerial responsibility for both domestic and international sales and marketing for all FTI product lines. Bowes joined Finish Thompson in June 2003 as director of International Sales. Under his direction, FTI says the company achieved outstanding growth in overseas pump sales, strengthened relationships with key distributors, and developed new market opportunities. • Lisa Herrin has been appointed eastern regional sales manager at Johnson Pump of America Inc. Herrin will be responsible for OEM and aftermarket sales, handling all

business east of the Mississippi. She has over 20 years of experience in the marine industry having worked for Sea Recovery, Naiad and VanderVelden bv. • Tom Van Tassel has joined Wood Group ESP as vice president of Global Manufacturing. Van Tassel has been consulting with WGESP for the past year. He has held executive leadership positions with IBM, Textron and Joy Mining Machinery and brings a broad and varied manufacturing background to WGESP that will help the company to improve its Oklahoma City manufacturing operations and also develop its strategic global direction for the sourcing, manufacturing assembly and repair of equipment. • Taco Inc has reorganised its sales and marketing department into two separate divisions, based on its major product markets: commercial and residential. Heading up commercial sales and marketing will be Tom Lawrence, senior vice president. Senior vice president Bob Coons will take charge of residential sales and marketing. He will continue to also have responsibility for Taco Canada. Lawrence has been with Taco since 1964 and has served in various sales positions over the years. Coons, who joined Taco in 2004, had been with Burnham Hydronics since 1991 and had served as president of Burnham Commercial prior to joining Taco. Lawrence and Coons will report to Robert Flynn, senior vice president of corporate development. Bill Herhold, vice president of OEM sales, will report directly to company president and CEO John Hazen White Jr. • Port Orange, Florida-based Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co Inc has

announced three management promotions for 2006. Doug French takes over as VP, business development and asset management, while Chris Thompson, son of company president Bill Thompson, takes the reins as VP, branch operations. Longtime Thompson Pump employee Del Ritz is now Florida region manager. French, formerly VP, branch operations, and a 19-year Thompson veteran, takes on a new role for the company overseeing all facilities and major assets while managing company growth and expansion. He will continually evaluate each of the 19 company-owned branch locations for needed improvements; manage the company’s vehicle fleet program; evaluate inventory and rental fleet assets; and analyse potential new products. Thompson, company stockholder and former Florida region manager for four years, now focuses on three regions including the Gulf Coast, Southeast and Florida, covering factory-owned branch locations and distributor territories to manage strategic market development, company growth and profitability, and the strengthening of distributor relationships. He will also concentrate efforts to improve personnel and value-added support to maximise customer satisfaction. Ritz, a 17-year Thompson veteran, previously worked alongside the nine salesmen in this territory as the Florida regional bypass specialist. In his new position, Ritz will be responsible for the profitability of seven branches and will oversee all salesmen and assist them with dewatering and bypass projects as well as making available and mobilising necessary equipment.
