The Resident/Fellow SIR Annual Scien1:ific Meeting Research Award The Resident/Fellow SIR Annual Scientific Meeting Research Award is designed to provide residents and fellows an opportunity to attend and present scientific research at the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting. The intent is to expose young researchers, who wish to further their career in interventional radiology, to the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting. Recipients receive a stipend to help cover travel and lodging expenses to attend the 2005 SIR Annual Scientific Meeting. This year, Paul Harrod-Kim, MD, and Tarak Patel , MD, earned this SIR Foundation award.

Dr. Paul Harrod-Kim is a resident at the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY. His research focuses on adapting photodynamic therapy tumor ablation for the interventionalist through a pilot study for a percutaneous approach. He will present his research on Friday, April I, from 1:18-1:30 p.m. in Scientific Session 2.
As a fellow at Johns Hopkins Medical Institution in Baltimore, Dr. Tarak Patel conducted research showing that hypoxia-inducible factor 10'. promotes therapeutic arteriogenesis in an endovascular model of rabbit hind limb ischemia. He will present his research on Sunday, April 3, from 9:00-9:15 a.m. in Scientific Session 15.
